ECU / ECM "refreshing" ???

    “Refreshing” may not be the correct word to use.
    However, in videos I have watched they referred to the engine beginning shut off and restarted in order for the ECU/ECM to refresh or update data from the sensors. I believe the terminology used was “drive cycles”.

    If you have any idea to what I am referring would you happen to know how long should the car be driven before turning off the engine?
    After shutting down the engine how much time should past before restarting the engine?
    How many drive cycles are sufficient to refresh / update the ECU / ECM?
