      Hey from Indiana,
      I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota with the 3.7 v-six.
This engine has the COP ignition system and I am confused on witch wire
I would connect the Vantage Pro to get a primary ignition wave form.

The coil has two wires at the connector. One wire comes from the power shut down relay and feeds all six coils
      plus the injectors.
The other wire goes to the PCM and they are all a different color and all six coils have their own driver.

I thought I connect at the fuse box using a low current clamp and a fuse buddy but how would I keep the
      injectors out of the picture?
      Thanks for any help.

I think if you watch Matt’s videos he has a great series on diagnosing ignition systems and has a great presentation on 2-wire systems, which you have. I think Matt even goes through setting up with a Vantage Pro, including scope settings. Basically one wire is +12V, the other signal. You can find the 12V back-probing KOEO.

I have a Vantage Pro myself and I have a love-hate relationship with it. As a graphing meter and guidance on sensor level testing: love (except that it does not have all sensors, like SWPS for Corvettes!!!) Scope features: HATE! the screen is small, low resolution, and I find the Y and N buttons very trifling. Also, using aftermarket probes like PICO clamp-ons; not useful to me at my point in my knowledge base. I spent way too much time trying different scope settings only to push the “N” button at the wrong time and back the scope to the opening dialog box.

Snap-On is not a hobbyist’s supplier. Everything you need from them costs a king’s ransom.

          Thanks a bunch!
Yes I have watched the ignition videos and they were very helpful.
You are right on about Snap-On.
E-Bay has been a big help.
          Thanks!
