Check engine light came on the other day on my 04 Tahoe Z71 4WD 5.3L 120k miles… used code reader to pull code. P0135 B1S1 O2 heater circuit problem. AutoEnginuity revealed same code. STFT banks one and two normal, LTFT normal as well. Both O2’s show output voltage.

Disconnected B1S1 O2 (upstream) connection and tested O2 sensor and connection. With KeyOn EngineOff, 12V at computer side of connection for heater circuit. Ohm reading at O2 for heater circuit (two black wires) showed 3.74 omhs.

If I’m getting 12v signal and connectivity within the O2 heater circuit, why am I still getting the P0135? Wiggle test did not produce any fluctuation in readings.

Does Chevy have a min ohm reading for the heater circuit on their O2 sensor?

After much research… a functioning GM O2 sensor must have between 5 and 16 OHMs for the heater circuit to work properly.
