I was dealing with the check engine light for over a year change the spark plugs change the coil switched around it fuel injectors nothing fixed it. Both of you diag tool the v500 pro check the oscilloscope for the signals coming from the computer everything seem fine. No smoke coming out on a smoke test. So I started to dismantle the top of the engine took off the new ECU which I bought and had cloned no effect of course. Had to remove the fuel rail with all the injectors. moved the wires out of the way. Took off the throttle body and a piece PVC. Unbolted the intake manifold when I removed it I inspected it it was fine but I noticed the gasket had moved slightly on the number five cylinder. Cleaned up both sides put on new gaskets aided by little liquid sealant to try and make it sticky as not to move when I reinstalled the manifold. Put it all back together, and voila no more misfire on cylinder number five. No more check engine light.
Congratulations! I know the feeling of clearing the fault codes then turning on the engine and the Check Engine Light stays OFF! Especially after a year.
I’m wondering how to diagnose that problem in the future. What signs to look for. Quite honestly your particular issue would be quite difficult.
