On my 2002 Sonata I’m looking through my manual since I want to know how to correctly set the tension and I can’t get good results with the drive belt twist method or “thumb” method. I’m however totally confused by the info presented. I don’t get why on one page it says apply 100N of force to the belt and then on the next it has table with a whole bunch of different varying values with different tensions. I’m also confused because the manual talks about measuring deflection, but the tension gauges it shows to use don’t seem to be made for that purpose.
