I wanted to know the compression test results of my Toyota Celica 2005 1.8 VVTI,
This has a 1zz engine with 10:1 compression ratio. Results were 165psi within less than 10 psi between cylinders.
I then tested it with oil and it shot up to 225psi.
Do you think this is normal for the large increase in wet compression? The car has 82,000 miles.
I also have the 1.8 VVTI in my mr2 roadster, 165psi is okay. For reference my engine is at 65k and has 180psi compression. Your piston rings are worn but not bad. When the engine was new it will have had around 225psi compression.
